These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the VeritasLaw AI website, applications, and services (the “Service”), operated by BlackSolstice Technologies LLC, a California limited liability company (“VeritasLaw AI,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
VeritasLaw AI provides legal information and self-help document assistance. We help you find California court and agency forms, explain each field in plain language with citations to public legal sources, and fill official forms from the answers you provide.
We are not a law firm, we are not your attorney, and we do not provide legal advice.
Using the Service does not create an attorney-client relationship. We do not review your information or documents for legal accuracy, sufficiency, or strategy, and we do not represent you before any court or agency. Information we provide is general and may not apply to your specific situation. For advice about your legal rights, obligations, or strategy, consult a licensed attorney.
Some forms and features are labeled “Review recommended” or “Lawyer recommended.” These labels are informational only and do not change the fact that you are responsible for your own filings.
You are solely responsible for:
Generated documents are drafts based on your inputs. Courts may reject filings for reasons outside our control. We do not guarantee any legal outcome.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The Service is intended for use with California matters.
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@veritaslawai.com of any unauthorized use.
We offer a free tier and paid plans. All payments are processed by our payment processor, Stripe.
Free tier. You can browse practice areas, read our guidance, use Form Finder to download blank official forms, and preview one guided form. The free tier does not include downloading completed (filled) forms.
Single Matter (one-time purchase). A one-time payment that unlocks one legal “matter” — the guided forms, completed-form downloads, and related tools for that single matter. When you apply the purchase to a matter, it becomes permanently tied to that matter and cannot be transferred to a different one. This is a one-time charge, not a subscription.
Monthly and Annual subscriptions. Recurring plans that let you work on multiple matters at once and download completed forms, subject to the limits shown on our pricing page (including a maximum number of active matters and a daily allowance of guidance questions). By subscribing you authorize recurring charges (monthly or annually, per the plan you choose) until you cancel. The specific prices, matter limits, and usage allowances for each plan are stated on our pricing page and may be updated prospectively with notice.
Usage limits. Our plans include stated limits (for example, the number of active matters and a daily guidance-question allowance). These limits are described on the pricing page and are part of your plan. We may enforce them and may adjust them prospectively with notice.
Cancellation. You can cancel a subscription at any time through your account or the billing portal. Cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. Cancelling does not delete your saved matters or documents.
Refunds. Except where required by law, fees already paid are non-refundable, including one-time Single Matter purchases and subscription fees for the current period. We may change pricing prospectively; changes do not affect the current paid period.
You may not: use the Service to provide legal services to others or engage in the unauthorized practice of law; submit false information to a court through documents generated with the Service; scrape, resell, or reverse-engineer the Service; upload malware; or use the Service unlawfully. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
The Service, including its software, form definitions, guidance text, and design, is owned by VeritasLaw AI and protected by law. Official government forms remain in the public domain. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own legal matters. Documents you generate from your own information are yours to use for your matters.
The Service relies on third parties including Supabase (data storage), Stripe (payments), our hosting providers, and AI model providers used to power informational features. Your use may be subject to their terms.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR THAT FORMS OR INFORMATION ARE CURRENT, COMPLETE, OR LEGALLY SUFFICIENT. LAWS AND FORMS CHANGE; WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT CONTENT REFLECTS THE MOST CURRENT LAW.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VERITASLAW AI WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR MISSED DEADLINES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
You agree to indemnify and hold VeritasLaw AI harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
We may modify these Terms; material changes will be posted with a new “Last updated” date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including intellectual property rights, disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
