The confidence percentage measures how closely your question's wording matched the official documents in our database — not how legally accurate or reliable the answer is. A higher percentage means your question used phrasing very similar to the source document we found. A lower percentage doesn't mean the answer is wrong — it can simply mean your question was phrased differently than our source material, or that fewer matching documents were available on that specific topic. Every answer, regardless of confidence percentage, is generated only from official California legal sources — never from general knowledge. We show this percentage so you can see how directly connected an answer is to its source.
